Help us build brighter futures for Southwest Kansas

By embarking on the Building a Brighter Future campaign, Russell Child Development Center is ensuring the agency will have the facility with capacity and flexibility to accommodate service needs for the next 50 years.

RCDC's current facility is approximately 8, 000 square-feet, and nowhere near the size necessary to adequately support all the programs and staff members serving families in Southwest Kansas.

Last year 5,707 children received RCDC services.

Building update:

Construction has begun on the new facility located at 2735 N. Jennie Barker Rd. in Garden City, Kansas.  Schedule completion and staff move-in date remains on schedule.

Pave the Way Fundraising Bricks are still available! Scroll down the page to leave your mark on the new facility.

More about the Campaign
The new facility will allow

Russell Child Development Center depends on the generous support of donors to cover the funding gap between actual costs for providing services and available government funding. The Building a Brighter Future campaign will secure funding for three years' program costs to support the Tiny-k Program, RCDC's most well-known and costly program, as well as case management services.

With a larger facility it will be essential for RCDC to establish an endowment for long-term sustainability. A facilities endowment will allow the organization to manage the inevitable ups and downs of the economy without placing any of its vital programs at risk. Interest generated from the endowment will be used for future facilities maintenance needs while the principal will remain untouched.

Providing early intervention services and accessible early learning opportunities throughout Southwest Kansas for young children, birth to five years of age is costly. However, allowing these needs to go unmet will inevitably cost our communities much more. Please join us in Building a Brighter Future for Southwest Kansas children and families.
