Services are provided in your child's natural environment- where he or she lives. Natural environments include home, Learn & Plays, parks, libraries, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. There is no waiting list and never a cost for services. Funding is provided by local state and federal sources through Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.).

Developmental Screenings are:

Free Screenings and Evaluations are available to families and take place in a natural setting, such as the child’s home or community. At least two professionals meet with a family to gather information about how a child is developing and to determine if he/she is eligible for services.

  • Each child’s hearing, vision, and overall development will be screened by trained professionals.

  • RCDC screenings look at self-help, thinking, social, communication, and muscle development skills.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • To be eligible for services a child must show a 25% delay in one area or 20%  delay in two or more areas

  • Upon determining eligibility for services, Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) are developed by the Early Intervention team and family for eligible children. These plans guide the team in meeting the needs and addressing the priorities of each child and family.
