Garden City, Kansas, April 30, 2021: The Board of Directors of Russell Child Development Center, Inc. (RCDC) is proud to announce the appointment of Rebecca Clancy as Executive Director, effectively July 1, 2021. RCDC is a community-based nonprofit organization providing a range of no-cost early childhood services for young children and their families in 19 southwest Kansas counties.
Rebecca comes to RCDC with twenty-one years’ experience working in the early childhood field. From 2002 to 2013, she held various leadership positions with Russell Child Development Center. After moving to Topeka, she was Parents as Teachers Coordinator for USD 501 Topeka Public Schools for three years, followed by a position as Head Start & Early Head Start Education Advisor for Community Action, Inc. In 2020 she took a position as Director of Workforce Supports for Child Care Aware of Kansas (CCAKS) and in late 2020 RCDC contracted with CCAKS for a portion of Rebecca’s time to direct a new Family Child Care start-up project called Pathways for Family Child Care Providers.
Rebecca has an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Colby Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from West Texas State A & M University, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. She recently moved back to Southwest Kansas to be closer to family.
