Role of the RCDC Board of Directors
The role of a Russell Child Development Center (RCDC) board member is to ensure the agency’s mission – To lay a foundation of success for all young children and their families through high-quality, inclusive services – is carried out in a fiscally responsible and ethical manner.
Board members use their professional skills and expertise to provide strategic governance for the organization in partnership with the Executive Director.
TERMS OF OFFICE
RCDC Board Members serve a two-year term with eligibility for re-appointment to two additional two-year terms for a maximum of six consecutive years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold the mission and values of the organization

Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director

Practice clear, open communication and respect for all

Prepare for and participate in monthly meetings

Represent RCDC to stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the organization

Understand and approve significant policies and programs

Oversee the general implementation of policies and programs

Engage in planning and oversight of the agency’s budget
